SWINGING BOTH WAYS?

I have just read your Dizzy Gillespie article [Jazz-History Series] in the May TUESDAY magazine. Being a former hanger-on in jazz circles I found it very interesting.

However, I must protest the statement that there were no homosexual jazz artists. I have known and had experience with many and have heard of many more. There is no point in naming names-it would not be fair to them-but be assured I know what I am talking about. I always thought it added to their sensitivity as artists-broadening their ability to "swing both ways."

Right here in Hollywood, the wife of one of the most famous moderns just left him after discovering the truth. C'est la vie.

So do a little deeper research next time. And keep up the good work. Los Angeles
